About Alumni

Implication of Alumni Association

An alumni association is an association of graduates or, more broadly, of former students (alumni).This association often organize social events, publish newsletters or magazines, and raise funds for the organization. Many provide a variety of benefits and services that help alumni maintain connections to their educational institution and fellow graduates.

Objective and vision of an alumni association 

  1. To create an accurate data base of alumni and maintain it with continuous updating
  2. To establish communication links with alumni through newsletters, and interactive web page etc., to keep them informed of events in the college and for the alumni to share their view and experiences
  3. To setup Alumni chapters in various cities, towns and overseas
  4. To form a core committee comprising faculty members of our college to guide and take part in various activities of the alumni cell
  5. To make the committee look into mobilizing funds from the alumni by way of annual subscriptions and eventually become self-reliant.

Scope/ LTCOE initiative in the realm of alumni association 

ALTEA [An Association of Lokmanya Tilak College of Engg. Alumni(Reg No. - MAH/1032/08 Thane)]is established in the year 2008 under the valuable guidance of Principal Dr. Vivek Sunnapawar for maintaining liaison with Alumni all over the world and to involve them with the development of the Institute.

 In line with the above, Prof.Sunil Satav, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engg. Department is acting as a coordinator for this cell, who will manage this responsibility along with an entire group whose list has been attached here with for entire Alumni Affairs of ALTEA. This cell will seek to connect and engage students, alumni, friends and well-wishers for a lifelong relationship with ALTEA. It will also focus on development of alumni support to the continuing development of the Institute‚Äôs academic, research, and off-campus programs, expansion and renewal of its facilities, and providing scholarships and financial aid to students through annual fund raising campaigns. It will aim to foster connections between and among alumni and the Institute.

 The foremost responsibilities Of The ALTEA:

  • Create the list of the alumni of respective department right from the first batch.
  • Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the ALTEA strategic Plan
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records including their contact, biographical and career information
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni as well as local, regional, National and International alumni chapter
  • Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs
  • Partner with various offices of the Institute to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in the growth and continued leadership of the college.
  • Collaborate closely with Industries and enable increased support from alumni, and provide platforms and programs for such support

FUNCTIONS of ALTEA

 

          The members of ALTEA Cell seek to reach out, maintain and strengthen close ties with our Alumni. The Cell aims to organize ways in which present students can freely exchange ideas and experiences with across the passed out students throughout the globe- to learn how this college helped to mould their minds, how it shaped their futures, their life on campus and much more.

         The ALTEA has also furthered our efforts of updating the alumni database with fresh contacts on a regular basis throughout the year and are inching towards our goal of the establishment of an online network so elaborate that it could become a nerve centre for ALTEA in the future.
