Students Achievement

It gives us an immense pleasure to inform you that following BE EXTC students of our college:-

Swanand Dharne
Shreedhar Karnik
Mehul Gokhru
Rohit Bhosale
Dhaval Jangale

Under the guidance of Dr. Ravishankar Dudhe have won the consolation prize at the prestigious national level project competition “TEXAS INSTRUMENTS-ANALOG DESIGN CONTEST 2012-13” organised by TEXAS INSTRUMENTS under TEXAS INSTRUMENTS UNIVERSITY PROGRAM for their project named DIGITAL ENERGY METER WITH VOICE ALERT FOR OVER POWER UTILIZATION.

  • Projects were invited & accepted from all over INDIA. Out of many projects from 102 colleges, 350 projects were shortlisted & only 40 projects were the consolation prize winners.
  • This is the only project group selected from MUMBAI UNIVERSITY & have won the CONSOLATION PRIZE.

Student’s Experience:

This competition aimed at promoting analog IC-based hardware system design & that was exactly our interest peeked in. Firstly, we had to send the project proposal to Texas Instruments which got reviewed from the experts & was finally shortlisted for entering into this prestigious competition. The Competition had 2 phases i.e Phase 1A & Phase 1B. In Phase 1A, we had to implement the problem statement (2nd order low pass filter) given by them on the Analog Starter Lab kit (ASLKv2010) which was provided by Texas Instruments free of cost & submit the report regarding it. Phase 1B was to proceed with the final implementation of the project. The Components required for the Project were sponsored by Texas Instruments worth USD 200. Finally we implemented our project & were required to submit the video & the report according to the guidelines provided by Texas Instruments. Evaluation of the projects was done on the basis of innovation, hardware implementation, deadlines met & Phase 1A also played crucial role in deciding the winners for this competition. We could get the hands-on experience of MSP430 Microcontroller. We got the opportunity to work on Texas Instruments own software platform i.e Code Composer studio & most importantly we could interact with the experts from Texas Instruments & enhanced our knowledge. Managing the regular semester load & being in phase with this competition was a difficult task but still we managed to handle it well & credit goes to the whole team & the mentor. We would like to thank our mentor Dr. Ravishankar Dudhe for guiding us in this whole journey & Texas Instruments for their constant support.

Mentor’s Words:

This was a very good platform to showcase the talent of our students. Through this students got their confidence lifted up and also they were able to work on a real life project where they used the TI’s components. Altogether such encouragement to students really boosts their morals and they come up with their talent. I am thankful to TI for organising such context as well as helping the students to show their talent.
